Came in just for a piece of black forest cake, but we ended up having a meal because the food looked so delicious, and we weren't sorry. The salmon French toast was amazing! Several dressings/sauces and so good.

We had trouble finding the black forest cake anywhere, but they had it here, and it was exquisite!

Cheerful cafe with a wife range of pastries. Coffee is excellent. Black forest pastry was very average, it was too "cakey" and not light and airy enough. Apart from the pastry, it was a great visit for a hot cappuccino with a nice view of the bustling street.

This morning after the visiting the Baden Baden 47th International Oldtimer Meeting, we settled on the terrace for a drink and icecream. Both orders arrived in no time and of top quality. The service lady is great, charming and so professional. Highly recommended.

TLDR: RACIST & PREJUDICED lady employed here is extremely rude. Warning to all people of color to either avoid this place or… flood it so she’s forced to see more diverse people outside of the tiny ignorant bubble she lives in.

I’ll preface this by mentioning that I am Asian American. I’m a respectful traveler, aware of my surroundings and can speak enough German to order at restaurants and travel around. (I used to live here) Last week, I came to this bakery, waited my turn and ordered in German for a pastry. The older lady employee (40s-50s) with dark brown hair was visibly angry to see me next in her line, and talked down to me in such a manner that my existence annoyed her- even before I could utter a greeting. She didn’t treat anyone else before me like this. It just kept getting worse as my accent or physical appearance made it obvious I wasn’t a native German speaker. She spoke so rudely to me, and tried to make me feel badly. As she let out an exaggerated huff and messily threw my pastry into a bag, I told her to forget about it. I wasn’t gonna let her keep treating me as the “other”. She finally smiled, glad to get rid of me. As I turned, she shouted very sarcastically for me to have a nice day in English. Then she laughed as I left.

My purpose for leaving this review is to let other people of color know what to expect at this bakery. There are a ton more bakeries in Baden that never treated me this way. So I would suggest going anywhere else instead if you’d like to have a nice day. Amazing selection of local pastries and coffee. Got to try the delicious Black Forest cake and a cappuccino.

Food was not bad but the staff came across as unwelcoming and impatient, even when we were just asking basic things like coffee and utensils. However, we only spoke English - we noticed that the staff was friendlier to other customers who spoke German…

Great cakes, coffee and waitered service even down to the cutlery and plates. There are lovely local cakes choices which Baden-Baden is famous for.
